History

APGA Tour is in its eleventh year as a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring greater diversity to the game of golf. The APGA Tour plans to accomplish this by sponsoring professional golf tournaments, establishing player development programs, mentoring programs and by introducing the game to inner city young people.

Professional Tournaments

The APGA Tour consists of up to eight tournaments nationwide with over $250,000 in prize money. The Lexus Cup Bonus Pool provides an additional $30,000 for APGA Tour members. In addition to a professional division each APGA event features an amateur division for players with handicaps of 5 or less.

Charlie Sifford Player Development Program

In our quest to foster a culture of inclusion within the game, we seek collaboration with those who also champion diversity and inclusion. In order to truly grow the game, it is vital that the game of golf is truly welcoming at the highest levels of competition to all, and that any real or perceived barriers are eliminated. The APGA Tour is committed to assisting those under-represented and under-resourced players who have distinguished themselves through their play on the APGA Tour or other high level events.

We understand that to develop optimally, it is in the elite players’ best interest to gain access to top training methods and coaching that may not be readily available to them. APGA Tour Members know there are no shortcuts to earning a spot on any of the elite world-class professional golf tours. They have shown consistency in their approach, effort and dedication to getting better.

The goal of the Charlie Sifford Player Development Program is to provide some assistance with the details of skill development, training, nutrition and equipment.
